2017 SCHOOL AID FUND HIGHLIGHTS
The Michigan Lottery provided a record $924 million for public education in the 2017 fiscal year, its third straight record contribution.
SUPPORTING MICHIGAN SCHOOLS
The Michigan Lottery has contributed more than $21 billion to support public education in our state since 1972, including more than $700 million each of the past 11 years.
For the past five years, the Lottery’s contributions to the School Aid Fund* total $4.1 billion.
*Lottery revenues comprise about 7.5% of the School Aid Fund. Other sources of funding for the School Aid Fund, include: state sales and use tax, earmarked income tax, state education property tax, as well as cigarette, liquor and other taxes.
